Super 8 by Wyndham South Boston VA

I’d like to start this review by saying I was reluctant to stay here after reading other reviews. However my experience here was not what others went through. I stayed here for 3 consecutive nights and I’m not sure if it was luck of the draw but my room was clean and didn’t smell of smoke (smoke free room 121 ) and the staff was friendly . I also had no sight of any bugs which was a relief . I would have given more stars if it weren’t for a few key things. 1.) the bedding , while it looked like it had been washed previously however it had stains on it which is discouraging I am moving to the area so this wasn’t a problem for me as I had my own blankets and pillows I could use I would suggest they invest in new bedding and throw out the old stained ones 2. The shower head and bath tub looked out dated and had mold on it so I didn’t use that , however the faucets looked new and clean so if you don’t mind washing up with the sink it isn’t that bad (the paper and stuff was from me the tub was mostly clean outside of those two circles just old ) House keeping came daily and swapped out the towels , trash , swept and mopped The hotel is right next to a dollar general a grocery store , a gas station and a few fast food places so I walked there for food the breakfast is pretty much just a corner in a room with a coffee machine , mini fridge stocked with yogurt and milk for the 2 choices of cereal and a few muffins I will note the ac unit worked great , the tv seamed new as it still had that thin plastic film around the edges During my stay it was quiet up until the last day I could hear the person above me talking and moving around . From what i observed there was no one just hanging around the parking lot Overall if you’re in a pinch and need somewhere to sleep without all the fluff and stuff this place will be fine I can’t guarantee it but it seems like the place may slowly renovating because I saw a bunch of old window style ac units thrown out and the sink and tv seam to be new in my room at least. There was also a chair in the lobby that had not been un boxed yet .

it was decent we stayed there for 3 days to visit family in south boston in late august the water in the shower was good and hot , the beds were okay and the tv was working good

I treat the reviews and my stay was better than expected. No complaints considering the price point. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Heater was not work in original room and was immediately given another room. Don't expect the Ritz at this value price.

Clean beds and rooms . Pleasant stay. Good customer service. Nice showers,towels and soap. lol.. honestly it was better than I imagined.

Me and my husband will be going back there too choose super 8..it was recommended too us and we will be going back..we enjoyed the stay and enjoying yourself when you have came along ways is a priority people deserve..yes I choose. SUPER 8...

I stayed here for 2 nights and was very pleased how clean the room was and how it smelled when I walk back into my room every time. My family and I was very impressed with all the choices they offered for a simple breakfast. The staff was very friendly and same with other people that was staying at the hotel. Very pleased with the location because there are shoping stores, restaurants and fast food services ever where and that is close by. Love how easy it was to leave the hotel and to get back into the hotel from the main roads. I will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

I have stayed (and reviewed) this hotel before - but on returning to south Boston for a work trip this was my GO TO place to stay again - and it did not disappoint!!!! Staff is wonderful and friendly and GUESS WHAT.... in these days where hotels don't want to offer ANY housekeeping services - they have Housekeeping Services EVERY DAY here!! Clean and comfortable. Felt safe and secure. Parking lots very well lit.

Nice hotel! Very clean and tidy. Sharon was excellent at the front desk. Would definitely stay here again.
